NO NEED FOR PLENTY OF LIGHT TO GET A GREAT SHOT
This was taken in the woods, during dusk. I saw an opening between the branches and wanted to capture the beautiful color of the leaves, as well as the small amount of light making it's way through the branches. I thought that if I waited for the right moment, I could turn this picture into a colorful shot with a nice bokeh. Using a flash would have killed the picture, so I used a fast 35mm Nikon prime f/1.8 lens to get the right amount of light. Aperture wide open and ISO 100 gave this noiseless shot the perfect depth of field for a nice bokeh.
RAYS WITHOUT SUN
It was a dark cloudy day with no Sun - but because I focused on the outer red bush and zoomed out from 55-120mm with a fast f/2.8 lens during the exposure, I caught some nice light rays giving the impression that there was Sun hiding behind the bushes
ONE COLOR, A GREAT STORY
Converting the background to Black & White really brings out the beauty of Autumn colors in this shot, thanks to Nikon's selective color feature on their new DSLR cameras
WHY SHADES OF GRAY ARE BEAUTIFUL...
This shot would not have looked as dramatic if I wouldn't have used Nikon's selective color feature to gray out the pine trees and grass, thus emphasizing the beautiful red colors of the bushes
EXPLOSION
By zoomig all the way out, using a 55-200mm Nikkor lens, made this beautiful bush explode on a warm Autumn's day
SOMETIMES OBSTACLES HELP PRODUCE A BETTER PICTURE
A once huge "outdoor party" mortar stove is now covered in Autumn colors, all the way to the top. Using a 200mm lens at max focal distance, made taking this shot through a fence possible, also giving it a nice blurry framing
AGAIN, THE POWER OF ZOOM !!
The contrast in Autumn colors really come to life in this 1/30sec shutter explosion
YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT'S NEXT...
I was walking through the woods when I ran into a wooden bench filled with leaves. I was going to shoot the leaves that have piled up beautifully on it's top, so I put my cup of coffee down and took a few steps back to execute the shot...when I looked through the viewfinder, the perfect shot presented itself by pure chance
